Crazy-bitch days.

Now, I'm going to blog about a topic very close to my heart. I'm sure ALL you girls have experienced it atleast once(or everyday!). I like to call it the "crazy-bitch days". These are days when you feel insane, angry, sad, mean, sadistic blah blah blah for no particular reason! It's hard to understand why this happens( hormones, maybe?) but i think the most common reason is feeling "unloved". I can't explain it. It's not logical. it's just a feeling! It makes a perfectly happy ,sane person act crazy(and not in a good way!)
According to my theory, there are two types of bitch days-

1.Mean and angry days.
2.Sad and overwhelmed days.

I drew a little cartoon to demonstrate!

The picture below shows a happy, sane person who is content with the world! It's one of those rare days.

On other days!

Now,the metamorphosis :P

This is the first type of "crazy-bitch" days.It transforms a normal person to a cranky, mean person who snaps at everybody! She is bitter and hates the world. She might even be contemplating REVENGE! Oh no,you'd better not mess with her or you'll have things flying your way and landing right on your face, nice and good. Or you might just get one TIGHT slap, who knows?! This one sure is a bundle of surprises.

The second type- Sad and overwhelming days! These are days when she's all sad and alone( for no reason) and overwhelmed with the world. She thinks everybody is out there to get her and she wallows in self pity.Tch- Tch.She might just cry a bucketful of tears or have a sudden emotional outburst even if you say "what's up?" so watch out!

From my observation, crazy-bitch days happen when you aren't pampered enough. I am strongly opinionated when it comes to such things and i think that all girls should be taken care of and pampered like princesses,if you will! And by that, i don't mean spoiling them silly and praising them without reason and letting them boss around and treat people like shit.Just good old love will do the trick! And if nobody pampers you, pamper yourself!! EVERY SINGLE DAY! How, you ask? Ah, I'll put that up later! You can do it on a shoestring budget too (ok, it's not exactly shoestring but it's still quite thrifty! :P) Ta ta.Catch you later! <3

Coincidence?Really?

Hmm I'm kinda stuck today..words just aren't flowing like they usually do. Maybe cos there's nothing exciting happening :P Anyway, I can't let that stop me from writing! So, over the past few days i have been looking at different studies that i am interested in- Marketing, Reiki and other healing techniques, journalism, caricature, advertising. I know i'm completely off -course and that my GRE scores and my electronics background won't be useful for any of these courses to say the least, but hey! I'm still young! I'm allowed to make mistakes and change my mind anytime i feel like!! I'm still evolving so I don't have completely concrete ideas yet.You can say it's in a semi-molten form right now :P
And yeah just to let you know, I haven't got my joining date yet :| They have put it off by almost an year, from july this year to April next year :x I was fretting and fuming about it but i suddenly i realised that this could mean more time to experiment with different professions!I know my elders would be totally against it and think I'm stupid( They have been asking me to apply to other software/hardware companies) but I'm gonna do what i want and not listen to anybody blindly. Their intentions are good, but that's just not how I picture myself. I just CANNOT sit in a cubicle forever and code away like an automaton. No,sir!
So of all the courses, advertising sounds appealing right now.It involves writing and coming up with arty, creative campaigns. I think I'd really enjoy that! I just can't see myself as a software engineer and similar. No offense to anyone but it's just too....plain. Yup, that's the word!
A few days ago, i was browsing through the top advertising firms in India and most of them seemed pretty much the same, with boring names and boring websites, except one. OGILVY and MATHER.The only reason i clicked on it was because I liked the name ( Yes, I'm shallow at times) and i loved the website! It was different from the rest and that is what caught my attention. I felt like this could be it  and called their office to ask about internships. Sadly, the HR was on leave and i was asked to call back after a few days.hmph! So much for all my day dreaming! I was supposed to call them yesterday but i completely forgot! I had to go shopping with Remmiye, you see! And everything else takes a backseat when you're thinking about all the shoes and clothes and bags you can buy! *slurp*  But before that, i met the twinnies( ha, they HATE me calling them that! :P ) , Sid, Dharni and Arvind for lunch. Sid happened to bring up my blog and Dharni said he interned somewhere and that he had to manage their blogs and stuff.I asked him where he interned and surprise, SURPRISE!! He interned at OGILVY!!! I was sooo excited!! I would have never known of it if i hadn't done that little research a few days ago! This got me thinking if it was just a mere coincidence or if it was some kinda invisible plan that falls in place when you are ready for it.Like i said before, I believe in magic and the unknown so I say this wasn't just a coincidence! Come to think of it, I wouldn't have gone out to lunch if Remmiye had come early from college.I only went cos she said she would be late for shopping. It's almost like she delayed just so i could and talk to Dharni!!And there was absolutely no reason for Sid to mention my blog but he did and that set the ball rolling for the rest of the conversation! Ah, whatever it is, i hope me and Prarth get internships at Ogilvy as well!! Dharni said he'll talk to someone he knows there.Yayyy!! :)

Miriyum!

Okay, today I'm going to post a very yummy recipe! My dad is an expert at it and he learnt it from his mum apparently( who is an EXCELLENT cook!) .What makes it awesome is that it only takes 5 mins to make!! It's the perfect dish for people who can't be bothered with elaborate cooking..here goes!
What it is : Miriyum is a spicy side dish for idlis and dosas.Tastes best when it is fresh off the stove!

What you need  :
1.Chilli powder - 2 to 3 table spoons.
2.salt, to taste.
3.Curry leaves- As many as you like! But we usually use around 5 to 10.
4. Garlic- around 3 to 4 pods
5. water
6. oil- 2 to 3 tablespoons
okay, now let's start!

Step 1: Pour some oil in your frying pan. Heat it for about 3 mins.
Step 2: Put the chilli powder into the oil. You can put in more than 2 or 3 tablespoons if you have the guts :P.DO NOT stir. Leave it as it is.
Step 3:Add curry leaves and crushed garlic pods. You don't have to peel the garlic. Just crush the pods and throw them in!
Step 4:Add some salt and stir the whole thing!
Now, the curry leaves and the garlic will turn brown if they are fried in oil. To prevent this, add some water  and continue stirring.

oil+chilli powder+garlic and curry leaves+salt+ water.

After a few minutes, you'll notice oil kind of oozing out of the mixture in some places..

As you can see,oil is kind of floating on the mixture,as opposed to the previous pic which has more water.

The oil oozing out means that you need to switch off the stove. The miriyum is done! :)

*slurp*

The past few days -part 3

22.10.11 - Went to the counsellor's at Indiranagar. He seemed all calm and said writing TOEFL in December was OKAY cos i wasn't focussing on applying to a Masters in Science program anyway! Thank god for that! he also told me i'd be better off with management internships if i were to apply to a course in management. So, yeah that's my next step. He seemed much more concerned than me that i was throwing away my electronics degree to pursue management. Honestly, electronics is reeeeally boring and dry!( Except Microelectromechanical systems, which was pretty interesting!). It's a miracle i made it through without breaking down completely! It dampened my spirit and made me behave VERY differently from what i am. I was SPIRITLESS for three whole years...okay, that was a bit dramatic. I wasn't "spiritless" lol but things are definitely better now that i don't have any electronics text books around me! :D
So anyway, apart from management, i am even interested in Bioengineering, which is a combo of biology and electronics. ( Only the biology part of it appeals, though. The electronics part makes me want to gag! ). I am at a fork right now and i don't know what path to choose!... Gah, i should have just gone to some beauty school in Paris and set up my own salon! Now that sounds soo much more fun! :D I still hope to do it some day!!
Anyway, back to the topic, I'm still a little fuddled on what course to take up. Will let you know when i DO choose something!!
So, by the time i was done talking to the counsellor i worked up quite an appetite and was raring to eat! :D Had a yummy lunch!

Left for home immediately after lunch and caught a cold by the time i got there :| Booked my TOEFL exam for the 10th of Dec in Chennai and waded off to sleep! Woke up with a slight fever and a heavy head today.. So here i am, all sick and cranky. Will catch you later. Toodles! :)

The past few days -part 2 : Men and buses- a nasty combo?

20.10.11- woke up (sometime in the afternoon, again) and went downstairs for breakfast. I can't remember what it was but i didn't feel like eating it so just drank some coconut water and darted off to watch a few episodes of modern family.I can never get enough of it! It's so hilarious and most importantly, realistic!None of the shit where the family hugs each other and cries and has emotional talks and says "i love you" in overly sentimental and grateful tones like in most soaps..By the time i was done watching a few episodes, it was evening! How time flies! Out of the blue, i remembered i was supposed to go to the Sai Baba temple in malleshwaram.Got dressed in a jiffy and me and Priya headed out amidst my granny screaming that we shouldn't take an auto cos the guy would kidnap us, apparently. A few incidents once in a blue moon and bam! Every auto driver becomes a wannabe kidnapper in the eyes of overprotective adults.
We decided to take her advice anyway and waited at the bus stop. With  no bloody volvo in sight, we had to make do with a pushpak.Ah, there were a few seats in the end and we triumphantly raced to them. The men sitting there gave us "looks"..i don't know what to make of those "looks" but i know they weren't good in any way, just menacing. They looked like they wanted us out of their "territory" ( the last few seats are usually the male bastion, if i may say so :P ). My antenna was up in the air, as is usually the case when there are too many unknown men around and i tried my best to look at them defiantly. But shameless as they were, it didn't deter them from giving more "looks" .. Arrgghh! And one creep came a little too close for comfort and i had to make a show of calling the police ( which is actually quite ridiculous. Like the police gives a hoot about such stuff) but it was my best option and it helped! The guy sunk back and didn't come close again. Phew! I had had enough of the bus by then and made a mental note to tell my granny how i was never going to listen to her yap about how safe buses were :|
When we got off the bus, an air of relief went through me! I stared at the bus scathingly and started walking towards the temple. Bought roses on the way to give at the temple. I love the flower market in Malleshwaram. Everything looks so fresh and beautiful! ( not when seen through my 2MP camera though! My apologies for putting up hazy pictures! )

Then, we were off to the temple and got back from the darshan in about half an hour. After a quick dinner ,we scooted off to the bus stop. Yup, no matter how much you hate advice from your grandmother, it's always deeply ingrained in your head! Gran always said autos are unsafe, especially after 9 in the night and it was 9.30 now :P We got into the first bus that came and i saw these men sitting in seats reserved for women. I tapped one guy's shoulder ( he was pretending to be asleep, by the way) and asked him to get up and he made excuses about how he had to hold a huge bag and stuff. i told him i'd hold it.Then another member of the clan came to this guy's rescue saying he wasn't well and stuff, which was OBVIOUSLY  bullshit! Persistence paid off and the guy finally "gave up" his seat. And almost like in a chain, three other guys who were sitting  in "women only" seats got up too! Me and priya and two other girls were all smug and gloated in out seats. Things were fine but after a while, the guy who i asked to get up sat in a "women-only" seat adjacent to me and gave me "looks"..aarrgghh! Seriously! what's with these men? Did i lower his ego and degrade his masculinity by asking him to move? Whatever it is, these guys have ISSUES!!

The past few days -part 1.

19.10.11 - Woke up with a start, sometime around afternoon, realizing that i still hadn't booked a date for my TOEFL exam! Now, my GRE scores are completely useless if i don't have TOEFL scores to boot so i started calling friends frantically, wondering what to do. Nothing anybody said could help so i decided to check available dates and horrors of horrors!- The only  "nearest" available date was the 10th of Dec!! That too in Chennai! Not knowing what to do, i decided to consult a Counsellor the next day. Right. He or she will know what to do.I must just give my mind some rest and relaaaax.
So, me and Priya went to the library. i borrowed  'The undomestic Goddess' by Sophie Kinsella and 'Shabanu- daughter of the wind' by somebody, Can't remember the author. Then we headed out for some Golgappa. I generally don't like chaats and junk food and stuff ( if you give me a bowl of the yummiest snack in the world and a bowl of rice, I will most probably choose the latter) but the sound of golgappas that day just sounded so appealing , i just HAD to get some. And boy, am i glad! It was EXTREMELY spicy and yummmmmmm!!
yum yum yum!

Started walking home at around 8.30 pm. bought a packet of "hot-chips"  to eat on the way..I wouldn't have bought it if i were my usual self but then again, i was actin weird and chose "junk" over rice so i must have been pretty stressed :P ..So, we got home at around 9 and decided to try on those korean masks i mentioned in a previous entry. The one below is an eye mask.

Bean shaped eye patches

The mask is soo refreshing! My eyes felt all parched and dry before but these patches gave me much needed relief. We tried taking "scary" pics with the mask on. Sadly enough, they didn't turn out all that scary :P

A venomous blue for a spine-chilling effect :P

We kept it on for an hour or so and just talked and talked. Before we knew it, it was time to take off the masks  and call it a day ( Do you sense double entendre here? :P). oh before i go, pics of my phone pouch!! :)

The piano pouch is mine!! :D The mail thingy is Priya's.

How cute is that!

DIY : Jewel Tree..

So, me and my lil cuz, Chandu were extremely bored one evening.I mean, i don't mind sitting idle but you know how ten year olds are! She was all hyperactive and kept sayin how boring it was etc etc. Now now, i definitely can't run after her and play "catch-catch" so the best i could come up with was some craft idea! she lapped it up and we started off right away. Here it goes!
What it is : A jewel tree is a simple and easy (and not to mention, pretty) hang-on for your jewellery. The one i have made is a jewel tree in its most basic form. You can always elaborate on it and add your own touches and improve on this model!

Things you need :
1.MOST IMPORTANT : A sturdy branched-twig( Mine was actually slightly bent. Make sure you get something that's straight).

2. A plate or a container. I chose a plastic lid.

3.Some wheat dough! you can use clay too.

4.Some shards of glass( if you don't have broken pieces, just throw an old glass tumbler on the floor with a lot of force, pick up the pieces very carefully and sweep the area clean.Yes, i know I'm being ridiculous but whatever! )

5.A bottle of nail base for the branch( for protection and a glossy effect). You can use varnish too,if you want.

That's all! Now, let's start!

STEP 1 : Clean the twig and the lid or container with a cloth.Next, place the branch vertically on the plate and glue it firmly to the lid with a strong glue. You can even use a strong tape to keep it in place.

STEP 2: After the branch is firmly in place, take some dough and pat it around the stem of the branch as shown :

STEP 3: Add more layers of dough till the lid is completely covered.Next, place( or rather , sink in) your glass shards on the dough any way you want to! You can make patterns with it too, but I prefer placing it randomly.

STEP 4: Now that you are done with the base, it's time to chiiiiill.Let the base dry in the sun for a day at least cos otherwise, since the dough is organic, fungus could grow on it and make things pretty nasty!! *eww*
While we waited, another cuz, Priya ,came home and we got talking. Chandu decided to rest for a while (No,she wasn't tired!! i didn't make her slog while i sat back and watched. She just decided to rest for no reason! Maybe she found mine n Pri's conversation boring!! ). Priya loves taking pics of Chandu ( she loves taking pics of just about anything, infact! And she's pretty good at it, i must say! ). The credits for all the photos below go to her!

My lil helper! :P

STEP 5: okay, after a day out in the sun, your jewel tree base should have hardened. if not, just let it dry a lil while more.Once it's set, paint the branch with some transparent nail base( or varnish) and you are good to go! :)

STEP 6: Tadaa! Now that you are done making it, go on and hang your earrings and chains and bracelets and what not on your jewel tree!
Warning : if your branch isn't strong enough, it might start drooping cos of the weight of all the stuff you put on it. In that case, hang very light weight jewellery on it. But to avoid all these problems, choose a strong branch in the beginning itself!

Like i said, this was the most basic jewel tree i could come up with. You can always improve on it by painting the twig or changing the base or adding pretty stones to the base and so much more! Do let me know how you made it! Send me pics! And have fun while you are at it! <3

Ohio! :D

No, I'm not talking about Ohio,Cincinnati .. I'm only saying Good Morning in Japanese! Thanks to K-on, i even say Mushi Mushi (Japanese for 'hello') sometimes when i pick up calls..Anyway, it's not technically morning now but 12:22 pm is kinda like the earliest i wake up these days..
I'm staying at my granny's place currently and i woke up to the shouts of "Snake!! SNAKE" this morning..Arggh how i HATE waking up alarmed! But anyway, the word snake caught my attention and i ran downstairs in a jiffy. My gran was all excited , staring out the backdoor like somebody had dropped a fat little baby wrapped in a pink blanket and wearing woolen booties in our backyard. I rushed out expecting something cute (I only have my granny's expressions to blame for that!)but all i found was a puny lil thing that looked more or less like chapathi dough, curled up in a corner and looking at us in a surprisingly defiant manner! I had a reverie about how i'd talk to the snake in parseltongue ala Harry Potter and lead it outside the gate and how the snake would tell me that it was a celestial messenger blah blah blah..As lame and "old" as it sounds, i actually like believing in  "superstitions" (like the snake being a celestial messenger, for eg) that are called "irrational" by our so-called modern science. Its unproven stuff like this that make the world seem like a magical place. Otherwise, everything in this world just seems so dissected and labelled and backed by "proofs". That makes everything seem so dull and prosaic and plain BORING! It's so much more interesting when some things don't have an answer..
Whoops!i diverted from the topic quite a bit.. Sorry about the digression.. Anyway coming back to the snake, the little thing kept looking at us with those hypnotizing eyes that snakes are so famous for..Granpa called the local snake catcher and he came in about ten minutes. It was only when he tried catching the snake with a hook-like instrument that we realized it was a baby Cobra! It raised its hood in all its glory and all i wanted to do then was to take a picture of it but my granny wouldn't hear of it..Its bad to take pictures of Cobras apparently. I argued that NGC and discovery channel photographers were doing just fine even after capturing ALL the snakes there are in the world ..She didn't bother replying and told me to put my phone away.. Hmph! Now these are the kind of superstitions i DON'T endorse! But everybody has their opinions. To each, his own! :)
I'm waiting for Priya, my cuz, to get home from college. She bought me a few Korean face masks yesterday and i'm VERY eager to try them on! Yeah, apart from my Japanese obsession , I also have this korean thingy going on :D Fun!

Heyhey!

I'm back!! Sorry i couldn't write for long..was busy with gre prep. Just finished my exam today and my score is pretty decent for just a month of preparation :D . So yeah, looked up a few courses. Masters in management sounds interesting! I originally wanted to apply to an MBA program but you apparently require work experience for that so that's outta the picture. But just for the fun of it, I applied to the Wharton school of business today(HA HA! Fat chance! ).
Speaking of work, i STILL didn't get my date of joining!! They have been putting it off forever! If things had gone as planned, I would have had fancy lunches, an even more overflowing wardrobe(if that's possible) and lots and lots of creams n perfumes and shoes and this n that and what not ,by now!! Looks like i should be content with just day dreaming for a few more months :(
I just remembered i still haven't put up pics of my jewel tree..Will do it tomorrow for sure! Too tired and sleepy and slightly disgruntled to do it now. I'm off to sleep . Good night! ^-^

Hmm...

And today is the day i realised that it's more important to be straight with life than to be polite or kind . And being sensitive and kind in this dog-eat-dog world is a big NO-NO !! I mean , YOU don't have to be a dog but you have to eat others before they take you alive! Yeah, sounds stupid but it's quite meaningful if you see it the right way.
I guess i was just trying to be "mature" and a "good-girl" to prove a certain loser wrong ( NO! Don't get the wrong ideas!! The person in question can at the most be classified as an acquaintance) .Now that i think of it, i always was a "good girl" but not the type that wakes up at 4 and goes to temples and circumambulates Tulsi plants etc etc..But anyway, i just figured i wasted so much time and energy for someone who is not even a part of my life ( And never was ! ) . That person can't even think something out on his own and his opinions are what his parents tell him ! Anyway, I'm past all that now with my newfound revelations :P . One can't really hide his true nature for long. It's gonna come spilling out someday if you keep it locked in for long ! Speaking of  which , my flair for cussing is back , bitch! :D

Yawwnnn...

If you are wondering what i have been up to , the answer is quite simple - NOTHING!
The only productive thing i did in the last three days was make a jewel-tree to hang my earrings on (Will put up the pics and how-to later today! ). And not surprisingly , i haven't studied AT ALL !! I usually wake up all inspired and ready to hit the books but the minute i see them, everything else starts looking so much more interesting ( ants and mosquitoes included ! ). And even if i do study , my concentration lasts for like fifteen minutes and i decide to take a "mini-break" for ten minutes and end up doing all kinds of useless things ( Scrubbing my bath-bucket with Dettol and soap ,and diverting a line of ants crawling in some hidden nook in the kitchen with my toes, for example. Who does that?!) for two to three hours and i decide to call it a day and put off my studying for the next day! And the same thing happens the next day and the day after that and so on ( The useless activities vary each day ,of course ).
So how am I to put an end to this monotonous routine? Hmm..Maybe I should stop over-analyzing and just DO it!!
Oh,by the way, K-on is back on TV! Sooo happy!!

DIY : Rice and honey face mask.

I was all bored yesterday and did a lil experimenting in the kitchen ( much to the disgust of my mom ) and came up with this AMAZING mask ! Muhahaha :D
Dull skin? Not to worry ! Help is here !!

Things you need :
1.Uncooked Rice
2.Honey
3. A small slice of lemon

What it does :
RICE is a great exfoliator ! It gently removes your dead skin cells .

HONEY is a humectant , i.e , it absorbs water molecules from the air and deposits it on your skin ! So if you want hydrated skin , you know what to go to ! Hydration would mean lesser wrinkles and frown lines (I frown quite a lot ! ) . Honey is also known for it's antiseptic and scar-lightening properties so this is one fantastic food for your skin !

LEMON is a very good cleanser and  is used for is bleaching effects .

This mask is good for all skin types ( I'm guessing , cos it works well on oily skin as well as dry skin so it should be just fine on normal skin too ! )

Let's start!
The first step is to soak a little rice ( about two teaspoons) in water. The water will  get kinda cloudy the first time so drain the water out like two to three times till it's clear. Then pour some more water ( it should be a lot more clear this time ) and let the rice soak in for three to four hours. You could even leave it overnight.

After your done soaking the rice for a while, drain out the water. The rice should easily crumble now. Pound it using whatever you want :P I used this wooden thingy that's usually reserved for churning buttermilk .

Okay , now that the rice is sort of powdery , mix some honey in it . I used around one teaspoon of honey for 3/4 teaspoon of rice .
I like using tiny bottles cos the product gets over before it starts getting stale .
Honey + rice

Mix up the rice and honey so you get a slightly thick consistency . Add two to three drops of lemon juice. Apply it on your face ( not under your eyes though ! ) and let it stay for about ten to fifteen minutes . Wash it off very gently . If your rough , the rice will over exfoliate your skin and cause scratches (microscopic , but it's still a SCRATCH ! ) .
You can use the leftovers on your hands and feet !

Rinse it off to reveal smooth , hydrated skin !

Progress ?? HA ha !!

So like i said yesterday , i dutifully studied a few reading comprehensions and i was so happy with myself for actually having followed my plan ( not completely , but i did get SOME work done at least !! ) that  i decided to treat myself to 4 episodes of K-On !! I'm absolutely in love with this anime , i could watch it for hours and  hours and not get bored ! I like it so much that it's even my current phone wallpaper!!
Okay ,coming back to my study plan , i was supposed to do some math after watching k-on but it was dinner time and after that i was all sleepy and decided to take a good night's rest and wake up real early and study ! ( easier said than done ) .
I even downloaded the Suprabhatam and set it as my alarm tone ! Well , the alarm rang at 6 and i heard the Suprabhatam ( sounded so refreshing ! ) but i still didn't wake up. I  kept hitting snooze. This song  is even supposed to wake up the gods but i just didn't budge and slept like a log ! I finally woke up at ten and decided that  i would study at 11:30 , after watching an episode of k-on at  11 !
So i brushed my teeth , showered bla bla and switched on  Animax at eleven , only to discover that  they won't be playing k-on from now on ( boooo hoooo ! ) . So in utter despair , i logged into youtube and yayy , there it was !!! ALL the episodes !! Ah , the joy ! I watched  like two episodes and finally decided enough was enough !! So here i  am ,  blogging !
Right , I'm gonna do two chapters in maths today and a  few more RCs and 5 word lists ( I will not slack , i will NOT ! ) . Here's hoping that i stick to my plan ! Ta ta <3

oh , oh before i go , a pic of  my favorite anime :)

Muuuah muuah !

GRE alert!!

Yes , I'm going into nerd-mode. I have decided to take up the Graduate record examination (GRE , for short ) on a whim !!
The pros are , well , i get to go abroad next year and be all freee and independent !!! But there are cons as well - if i  am to go next year , i need to take up my exam in the first week of October !! So that leaves me with just 40 days of prep time :( ( I know people who have written it after months of preparation , so yup this looks like a challenge ! ) .

Before i start preparing i need to make a really good time table and FOLLOW it !! Planning well is the FIRST step . I need to keep it real and make it efficient ! ( Fingers crossed that i don't start slacking again ! ) .
I have already wasted the morning watching anime ( I absolutely can't resist K - on !! ) . Right , I'm gonna do some Reading comprehensions and basic math today . I will also complete 5 word lists  :P
I have to do this !! I must give up my laziness at least this once . I will not slack , i will NOT slack !
I have my notebooks and my Barron's book ready so , off i go !! I'll report my progress day by day
 ( hopefully i progress :P ) Bye ! :)

Old world is the best !

It's been quite a while since i blogged (I  really should start being more regular! )..The thing is, i was out of station for a week on a mini pilgrimage to a few temple towns of Tamil Nadu ( and then i got home and viral fever struck me :P ..maybe i angered the gods with my laziness and frequent procrastination .. hmm ... must give that some thought LATER! ) ... Anyway, we stayed at this gorgeous restored 1896 Tanjore village ..it was very peaceful and it reminded me of my own native place quite a bit (the smell of cow dung especially :P ). The reception was the best . We walked to the reception room amid drum beats ( Haha that was a bit too much but fun though ! ) .We were given  cold cloth wipes for our face and some refreshing fruit juice. After that  , it was time for some quick foot massage with some thailam ...Ahhh it felt sooo good !! Then we were escorted to our room and fell asleep and woke up just in time  for dinner .The food was simple fare - rice and bland curries (I'm so used to eating spicy food that i felt like i was on a patient's diet !! ) .After dinner , we walked around the resort . Everything about the place felt very pure .. no pollution , just clean air and lots of trees !!! Even the rooms have this nice feel to them that modern homes don't .. Roof tiles made of clay , no artificial paints , floors made of stone and red oxide .. Ah! I want a house like that ! What's more, the River Cauvery flows through the resort ! It was wonderful staying there , i just didn't feel like leaving !
Anyway ,a few  random pics below!

The reception  room
The massage place at the reception :)
Got the most AMAZING foot massage with a herbal thailam as soon as we arrived!  In two minutes , all the weariness was gone and i was excessively jumpy!

Our room! :)...It's actually a thatched hut! Everything was so old and familiar :)

Artifacts on the  bedside table :P...the slate and the 'balpam' or chalk was my fave!

Self explanatory! :P

A cosy nook!

Even the bathoom was rustic :)

Entrance to the restaurant!

Random terracotta horses somewhere in the resort

I don't really know what purpose these pillars serve but they look beautiful :)
Okay, that's all for now ! More pics later ! cya :)

Himalaya intensive moisturizing body lotion ..!

Let me be very blatant here .. this product is absolute crap !! Not worth buying at all !! Forget about it claiming to be an intensive moisturizer , this product doesn't even do any ordinary moisturizing !!

Oh , i almost forgot to show you how it looks !

The lotion is a very light brown , comes in a compact bottle, smells great (a slight coconuty and vanilla scent) , your skin feels cool the minute you apply it BUT none of these matter cos it doesn't do any moisturizing ! I don't know about you guys but it makes my skin a little dry to touch and it also feels weirdly like PLASTIC when i use it!! This lotion is a big no-no for me ! It's been six months since i bought it but i only used it twice and didn't like it at all ! So i wouldn't suggest it for ANY skin type. I'd rather use coconut oil or olive oil instead of this no-good "intensive" moisturizer !

Himalaya face moisturizing lotion (For all skin types)

I am blogging after 3 whole days!! I was out most of the time .. went laser tagging (Super fun !) , watched HP - 7 ( One brilliant ending to the series! Could have been slightly better though .. I wouldn't mind if each Harry Potter book is again made into EXTREMELY descriptive six or seven-hour movies ... I'd definitely watch them !!) , went out for lunch with my gang from PU .. Ranj is leaving for the US for higher studies so it was the last outing for the four of us :( , did a little shopping and got home very tired and sleepy ! Ranj .. you will be missed  :) :(

Okay , now coming to the review , today's post is about Himalaya Herbals' face moisturizing lotion for all skin types ..

The lotion is white in color , very light and smells nice .. It feels very cool on the skin , leaves your skin feeling refreshed , and because it's so light in texture , the skin immediately laps it up like there's no tomorrow !! It doesn't leave any trace of greasiness after application . HOWEVER , if you have oily skin , this nice so-light-and-dry feeling lasts only a while and it tends to get greasy after like an hour or two of application so people with oily skin , try this ONLY if you have nothing better !! Or you could use it at night before you sleep but it's  not suggested for a long day in the sun ( I sometimes just use it on the neck though but never on my face !! ) .
People with dry or normal skin might find that it works perfectly well for them :)

So , yeah , on the whole , it IS a good product but those with oily skin should be a little wary of it !
Good luck experimenting ! <3
