DIY : Rice and honey face mask.

I was all bored yesterday and did a lil experimenting in the kitchen ( much to the disgust of my mom ) and came up with this AMAZING mask ! Muhahaha :D
Dull skin? Not to worry ! Help is here !!

Things you need :
1.Uncooked Rice
2.Honey
3. A small slice of lemon

What it does :
RICE is a great exfoliator ! It gently removes your dead skin cells .

HONEY is a humectant , i.e , it absorbs water molecules from the air and deposits it on your skin ! So if you want hydrated skin , you know what to go to ! Hydration would mean lesser wrinkles and frown lines (I frown quite a lot ! ) . Honey is also known for it's antiseptic and scar-lightening properties so this is one fantastic food for your skin !

LEMON is a very good cleanser and  is used for is bleaching effects .

This mask is good for all skin types ( I'm guessing , cos it works well on oily skin as well as dry skin so it should be just fine on normal skin too ! )

Let's start!
The first step is to soak a little rice ( about two teaspoons) in water. The water will  get kinda cloudy the first time so drain the water out like two to three times till it's clear. Then pour some more water ( it should be a lot more clear this time ) and let the rice soak in for three to four hours. You could even leave it overnight.

After your done soaking the rice for a while, drain out the water. The rice should easily crumble now. Pound it using whatever you want :P I used this wooden thingy that's usually reserved for churning buttermilk .

Okay , now that the rice is sort of powdery , mix some honey in it . I used around one teaspoon of honey for 3/4 teaspoon of rice .
I like using tiny bottles cos the product gets over before it starts getting stale .
Honey + rice

Mix up the rice and honey so you get a slightly thick consistency . Add two to three drops of lemon juice. Apply it on your face ( not under your eyes though ! ) and let it stay for about ten to fifteen minutes . Wash it off very gently . If your rough , the rice will over exfoliate your skin and cause scratches (microscopic , but it's still a SCRATCH ! ) .
You can use the leftovers on your hands and feet !

Rinse it off to reveal smooth , hydrated skin !
