Ahhh here we go again!
Hey guys! Hope you are good. I have lotsa stuff to update you about :) I interned at Deccan chronicle!! I wrote for their features tab and did fashion articles and other "youngish" stuff. It was really exciting.Initially, that is. The first day of my internship, I walked past some cars that had 'PRESS' written on it and man, was i excited!! I felt like i was part of a secret mafia!! It felt awesome to be a journalist after 4 years of being a lifeless dump of flesh! When my first article was in print,I felt a huge rush when i saw my name in the paper and stuff. I thought I'd feel it every single time but the excitement slowly starts to fade off after a while o_0. By the end of the internship, I was sure that this wasn't what i wanted to do the rest of my life! I DON'T want to spend my life chronicling other's lives!! I don't CARE what they do!! I don't care what a famous fashion expert thinks about a certain style! What if I don't have a pencil thin waist? I am STILL gonna wear high waist pants if i want to!! So basically I felt like I was writing about pointless stuff. And writing about others all the time made it slightly monotonous and i was flat bored after 20 days and was waiting to be done with it!! I met some amazing people though and I m really glad i got to meet them :) Anyway.. I heard about this balcony and urban gardening company at Deccan chronicle during a discussion on famous gardening companies in Bangalore. I googled it and found it pretty interesting! A lot of things came together and i ended up applying for the post of a designer at this company. I was called for an interview that went on for about an hour and i made it! lol. Started work on the 14th of Feb (and loved it! ). It's been a month since i started work and I am NOT bored!! o_o I really, really LOVE my job!! Its awesome :) And i have the BEST colleagues!! Will give you more details in my next post :) I gotta hit the sack now. Got work tomorrow ( I love going to work on Saturdays too :P) Right now, mom's watching 'super singer junior' or somethin of that sort. I find it really disgusting that lil kids are made to perform like trained monkeys on the stage and croon songs that are wayyy too mature for them. They even sings duets and stuff.ugh. They are children!! Let them be!! Let them play in the park and eat mud if they want to!! Anyway, time for me to go! Tata! <3

how to AVOID crazy-bitch days - The series.
Hey guys! If you have read my previous posts, i was talking about how important it is to take care of yourself. Today (finally) I will be writing about simple ways to pamper yourself every single day! This post is about foot care. Feet are the most neglected part of our bodies. Everybody is so obsessed with their face that they forget about feet! That is a HUGE no-no. You must take care of every lil bit of you. After all, you only have one body!! Treat it like your life depends on it (Duh! It actually does.)
Anyway, Let's start!
Things you need:
1.A tub/bucket
2. A lil salt, say half a handful
3. Any skin scrub
4. A toothbrush
5. Foot cream/moisturizer
6. socks/ 2 plastic bags
STEP 1: Fill your bucket with hot water and add some salt to it. Salt is a wonderful exfoliant. It softens skin by removing dead cells. It can soothe aches and remove odors.
After your done adding salt to the hot water, soak your feet in the tub for a while. Ahhh, the bliss!!
STEP 2: Take a scrub of your choice. I use the apricot scrub from st.Ives. I bought it to use on my face but it made me break out, so I use it on my feet instead!! You will also need a toothbrush. Now, now DON'T use the same brush that you use to brush your teeth everyday. That is just GROSS.Get a new one or use one of your old toothbrushes. I use one with soft bristles.
STEP 3: Apply some scrub all over your feet and massage in circular motions with the toothbrush. Get your feet nice and clean. You can add some sugar to your scrub to make it stronger.
Also, if you have tanned feet put some curd on your feet , leave it on for ten minutes and rinse off. My feet is tanned like crazy but I am lazy right now. The curd can wait :P :D
STEP 4: After your done scrubbing, put your feet back in the tub/bucket and rinse.
STEP 5: Towel dry your feet and rub in lots of moisturizer/ foot cream. I use Himalaya's foot cream. It an ok product. Planning to buy a different brand once this gets over.
STEP 6: Take your favorite pair of socks and shove it in a microwave oven!! Heat them for about 20-30 seconds or more, depending on how hot you want them to be. Then, wear them! The heat from the socks open up your pores and help in better absorption of moisturizer.
If the thought of socks in an oven sounds eeky to you, you can tie one plastic bag on each feet! Plastic helps retain heat. Sleeping with plastic on can be a bit of trouble though cos of all the rustling. Choose what suits you best!
STEP 7: The next morning, take off your socks and wake up to happy feet!! =D
Do this everyday and in week's time (or less than that) you will notice a difference. And you WILL feel good every time you look at them =) Have fun pampering yourself!! xoxo <3
